ἀντιόομαι, fut. -ώσομαι Hdt.7.9.γ́,102, al.: aor. Pass. ἠντιώθην, Ion. ἀντ- Id.4.126, 7.9.ά, al.:—
resist, oppose, τινί Id.1.76, A.Supp. 389, etc.; τινὶ ἐς μάχην Hdt.7.102: abs., οἱ ἀντιούμενοι, = οἱ ἐναντίοι, Id.1.207,4.1.

2. in Id.9.7.β́ (dub.), c. acc., τὸν Πέρσην ἀντιώσεσθαι ἐς τὴν Βοιωτίην that ye would meet him in Boeotia. (ἐναντ- is used in pure Att., ἀ. in Aen.Tact.36.7. The Homeric forms ἀντιόω, ἀντιόωσι, etc., belong to ἀντιάω.)
