gather together, collect, muster, ἀ. λαόν, etc., S.OT144, etc.; τὸ βαρβαρικὸν καὶ τὸ Ἑλληνικόν X. An.1.2.1; Τροίαν ἀ. gather the Trojans together, E Hec.1139; πνεῦμ' ἄθροισον collect breath, Id.Ph.851, cf. Arist.GA738b7; περιπλοκὰς λόγων ἀθροίσας having strung together, E.Ph.495: abs., hoard treasure, Arist.Pol.1314b10:—
