ἀπολαμβάνω, fut. -λήψομαι, in Hdt. -λάμψομαι 3.146, 9.38: Att. pf. ἀπείληφα, Pass. ἀπείλημμαι, Ion. ἀπολέλαμμαι: in Act. aor. 2 ἀπέλαβον, but in Pass. aor. 1 ἀπελήφθην, Ion. ἀπελάμφθην Hdt.:—
take or receive from another, correlat. to ἀποδιδόναι, Pl.R.332b; οὐδὲν ἀ. τοῦ βίου χρηστόν (v.l. ἀπολαύ-) Plu.2.258b.

2. receive what is one's due, μισθόν Hdt.8.137; ἀ. τὸν ὀφειλόμενον μισθόν X.An.7.7.14; τὴν σὴν ξυνάορον E.Or.654; τὰ χρήματα Ar.Nu.1274; τὰ παρὰ τοῦ πατρός Antiph. 196; ἀ. χρέα have them paid, And.3.15; ὑπόσχεσιν παρά τινος ἀ. II. regain, recover, τὴν τυραννίδα, τὴν πόλιν, Hdt.1.61, 2.119, 3.146, al.; τι παρά τινος Th.5.30; τὴν ἡλεμονίαν Isoc.4.21; τὴν αὐτὴν εὐερλεσίαν 14.57: metaph., ἀ. ἑαυτόν recover oneself, Porph.Sent.40, al.
